Swimming is an art of proportion of water through limbs, when the displacement of water is more than the body weight is called swimming. Swimming is an activity that burns lots of calories, is easy on the joints, supports your weight, builds muscular strength and endurance, improves cardiovascular fitness, cools you off and refreshes you in summer, and one that you can do safely into old age. Swimming can be performed in ponds, Rivers Sea, Lakes and as well as in artificial swimming pool. When Swimming is done in Hilly Rivers it is also called body surfing.

1 - First of all do not jump into the water alone and without life jacket or any other life saver tools frequently used into the water for swimming purpose. Be aware of your limits and do not go into water that is deeper than you feel comfortable in. If you are swimming in open water, always keep an eye on the shoreline to ensure you don't swim out too far. Finally, only dive into a section of a pool or lake that is clearly marked as safe to dive in.

2 - Proper breathing techniques play a vital role when swimming. You want to maintain rhythmic breathing in which you are constantly exhaling. Holding your breath tenses the body and increases haul. Regardless of the stroke you are swimming, make sure you have exhaled fully by the time you breathe in. Mutual breathing is the most proficient way to swim because it helps you swim straighter. In freestyle and butterfly, the aim is to breathe every third stoke.
